Certification should correctly inform consumers. Some certifiers certify salt as organic in their legal capacity as organic agriculture certifiers. There is »organic« salt on the market, labelled with organic agriculture certifiers´ numbers, but salt harvesting has nothing to do with organic agriculture.

For Marisol´s qualities of unrefined Portuguese sea salt, a certificate issued by Certiplanet is in charge, which testifies to the production of our contracted salt works in a nature reserve, without risk of pollution, producing strictly by hand, without purifying the salt, and fulfilling best practices in chemical analytics.

Furthermore, Marisol Sal Tradicional and Flor de Sal »Flos Salis« also apply to kosher standards for sea salt, certified by Natural Food Certifiers, New York/USA (USDA acc.).
