About Flos Salis ®

After the Phoenicians had introduced salt-gathering in the Algarve, the Romans perfected this early technology. A hot dry climate with sunny summers and regular wind patterns always favoured the production.

The principles of evaporation and hand-harvesting have not changed since more than 2000 years, when "Flos Salis ®" was mentioned by the Roman historian Plinius the Elder, in his famous "naturalis historiae".

Still today, Flos Salis ® is produced only by sun, wind and the Atlantic sea. Ancient practise and an excellent sea water quality result in a completely natural product. Marisol ® selects and packs this premium seasalt in exclusively designed retail packages.
