After the Phoenicians had
introduced salt-gathering in the Algarve, the Romans perfected this
early technology. A hot dry climate with sunny summers and regular
wind patterns always favoured the production.
The principles of evaporation and hand-harvesting
have not changed since more than 2000 years, when "Flos Salis"
was mentioned by the Roman historian Plinius the Elder, in his famous
"naturalis historiae".
Still today, Flos Salis is produced only
by sun, wind and the Atlantic sea. Ancient practise and an excellent
sea water quality result in a completely natural product. MARISOL
selects and packs this premium seasalt in exclusively designed retail
packages.
